Manuel I, and has always done well due to its strong economic, social and cultural potential.
The city of Funchal has many leisure activities to offer, you can visit the magnificent monuments, museums and gardens, go shopping, explore the typical Portuguese-style cobbled streets, or simply have a pleasant time sitting on a terrace.
Don’t miss the chance to visit the city’s old town, a picturesque historic centre that’s lively and full of colour. The archipelago, discovered by the Portuguese in 1418, is made up of the Islands of Madeira, Porto Santo, and the uninhabited Islands of Selvagens and Desertas (both Natural Reserves).
These islands, because of their privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate and a moderate level of humidity, conferring these islands’ exceptional subtropical features. The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf Stream, presenting averages of 24ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.
Although it is small, Madeira is rich in majestic scenery and rare beauty. Go and explore the charms and delights of this floating garden!
The main places to visit in the Madeira Islands are Funchal, Caniço, the east coast (Santa Cruz and Machico), the west coast (Câmara de Lobos, Ribeira Brava, Ponta do Sol and Calheta), the north coast (Porto Moniz; São Vicente and Santana) and Porto Santo.
Delight yourself with the countless views, on an island of such outstanding natural beauty!

For more detailed information, check http://www.visitmadeira.pt/en-gb and https://www.madeiraallyear.com/en/.

END 2022 will take place in in the beautiful city of Funchal in the Madeira Archipelago, Portugal.
